A Realist Take on The Secret and The Law of Attraction
“you can dramatically improve your life with your thoughts, and you don’t need to believe in a genie to do so”
Hunter Nuttall has written an e-book giving a third perspective on the book/movie “The Secret” and the Law of Attraction. As the title suggests this e-book is focused on the realists who feel that positive thinking can be beneficial, but without anything supernatural to believe in.
Hunter evens reaches to quantum physics to help you understand the Law of Attraction. This post is my review, yes I did buy it. I feel it is important to listen to everyone’s point of view on a subject that matters to me. Reading it allows me to take it in without feeling the need to react, which may happen in conversation. I notice that if you let someone finish what they are saying there may be an interesting point they are making.
Is the Secret true?
I am a scientific person by nature so when I wrote the post “Do You Believe?” I didn’t realize that people would take the movie literally. I assumed that most people would understand that you cannot imagine $100 in your hand and it would just appear, like magic. I guess I was wrong…
Its about speaking to the masses.
The Secret is a movie. It is meant to be dramatic to grab attention. For this reason it is going to have exaggerations. I think there is some good in this though. Without the book or the movie there wouldn’t be so much talk about the Law of Attraction (or principle of attraction).
Look, this is exaggerated because most people have a lousy attitude. Rhonda had to do that. If she just said ”thinking positive thoughts might help a little”, people wouldn’t care. But if she convinces someone that their thoughts are incredibly powerful, they just might make some effort to control their thoughts. Hunter Nuttall “Greatness without Genies”
Positive Thinking
I believe in the law of attraction, or maybe I should say I believe in positive thinking. It is proven every day. If you are in a good mood and thinking postive you will be noticed by others. It may be in the way you say hello, or smile at someone, but you have probably made that persons day better. There is no scientific answer for this, but it is there.
Have you made up your mind on the law of attraction? Or are you on the border. Why not do your research? Read this e-book from Hunter Nuttall, Greatness without Genies. Read the Secret and watch the movie.
I hope in the end you understand that understand that being positve can really have an effect on your life and that you cannot just wish for something. If you truly desire something, you will act accordingly to achieve your goals.
This is the Secret!

Listen Up!

Hi Jim - Great review. As you know, I have believed in the Law of Attraction. Although not in the simplistic way it is portrayed in the Secret.
But as you say, they had to make it dramatic, to appeal to folk who would have ignored it otherwise.
And I think Hunter’s book is a great way for folk who don’t have great spiritual beliefs to take advantage of the positive benefits of the Law of Attraction.
